Additional Dictionaries

Jardic Pro Dictionaries

After you installed Jardic Pro you can download additional dictionaries. To download additional dictionaries press button of Jardic Pro toolbar or select Dictionary → Dictionaries... menu command. A window with the list of installed dictionaries will appear.

In this window press button. A list of dictionaries awailable for download will appear.

You can download and instal following dictionaries:

  • Jardic Pro dictionary. Update. 11,000 articles. The dictionary contains modern Japanese word meanings.
  • Large Japanese-Russian Dictionary WARODAI. 100,000 articles. Compiled by: N.I.Konrad, S.V.Neverov, K.A.Popov, N.A.Syromyatnikov, M.S.Tsin, V.M.Konstantinov
  • Japanese-English dictionary EDICT. 199,000 articles. Developed by Jim Breen
  • Japanese-English kanji dictionary KANJIDIC. 6,000 articles. Developed by Jim Breen
  • Japanese-English Proper Name Dictionary ENAMDICT. 730,000 articles. Developed by Jim Breen
  • Japanese-English dictionary of sentence pairs EXAMPLES. 150,000 articles. Developed by Yasuhito Tanaka; ed. by Jim Breen, Tatoeba Project
  • Unicode Han Database from Unicode Consortium UNIHAN. Original Unihan text file was converted to DSL file by LiBeiFeng.
  • Large Chinese-Russian Dictionary BKRS. 250,000 articles. Under ed. of Prof. I.M.Oshanin. gital version of BKRS was compiled by non-profit volunteer project team.
  • Hebrew-Russian And Russian-Hebrew dictionariesHEBREW. 32,000 and 34,000 articles. Compiled by Anatoly Kaidalov
  • Japanese-Russian Medical Dictionary. MEDDEMO - Demo version. Full version containing 85,000 articles is available from the website of Vassily Loboda.

Jardic Pro can import external dictionaries in EDICT, KANJIDIC, ENAMDIC, EIJIRO (TXT), DSL ABBYY Lingvo formats. Some DSL dictionary files can be downloaded from the page of Lingvo Association of Lexicographers. Eijiro dictionary files in TXT format can be bought at Eijiro Web site.

Jardic Lite Dictionaries

After you installed Jardic Lite you can download additional dictionaries listed below.

To install a dictionary that have the word "Run" under Download button:

  • Click "Download"button
  • Click "Run" for the question "Do you want to run or save this file?"

To install a dictionary that have the word "Save" under Download button:

  • Save and unpack the file into the folder:
        <Username>\Documents\JardicLite\Dictionaries
  • Run Jardic Lite and click "Dictionary → Open..." menu item
  • Select dictionary file and click "Open"
