Jardic Pro
Jardic Pro can import external dictionaries in
EDICT, KANJIDIC, ENAMDIC, EIJIRO (TXT), DSL
ABBYY Lingvo format and others.
Following is a list of dictionaries
converted for Jardic Pro and ready for download.
To use an external dictionary with Jardic Pro do following:
- Download dictionary file to your computer
- Unpack the dictionary file
- In Jardic Pro press a button with book icon
or select menu item "Dictionary → Dictionaries..."
- In a window with the list of dictionaries press
a button with folder icon
- Select dictionary file and press "Open"
- A list of dictionaries will contain a line for new dictionary. Press "OK".
- New dictionary entries will appear in the lists of words
Some DSL dictionary files can be downloaded from the page of
Lingvo Association of Lexicographers.
Eijiro dictionary files in TXT format can be bought at
Eijiro Web site.
Jardic Pro dictionary files contain lists of words and kanji.
A size of Jardic Pro dictionary file can be 2-3 times greater
then the size of source dictionary file.
If a size of a file to download is important, you can download
source dictionary file and convert it yourself to Jardic Pro format.
Jardic Lite
Jardic Lite can work with JR-EDICT Japanese-Russian dictionary by
Oleg Volkov, EDICT and KANJIDIC by James Breen, and with dictionaries
compiled by Jardic Lite users.
The program can work with original dictionary files
or with preliminary converted and saved dictionaries.
Following is a list of converted dictionary files.
Jardic Lite dictionary file names are ended with
.jrd or .jrk.
To use an external dictionary with Jardic Lite do following:
- Download dictionary file to your computer
- Unpack the dictionary file
- Start Jardic Lite and select menu item "Dictionary → Open..."
- Select dictionary file and press "Open"
- Jardic Lite shows lists of words separately for each dictionary.
You can switch between dictionaries by double-clicking in the satus line
(bottom part of the program window) or by right-clicking in the status line.
